The American Way!

The American way has always been to distrust our leaders, even if they have provided no reason to do so. I will be writing mine on President Barack Obama, and how he has truly tried to be an effective president he is constantly being halted from causing any true change.

For Example many republicans lobby their congressional leaders to halt any legislation promoted by Obama. It is not because of the lack of quality in the bill, it is because they do not want him to succeed, because he is on the"other side". It is human nature to search for the faults in someone rather then look at the good things, but it seems like this attack is intensified when it is directed at Obama. This is partly due to the extent of his power, and the fear of what might happen,because of such power.

Another instance of mistrust of the president has been the whole incident with the birth certificate. Many Republicans including Donald Trump have insisted that President Obama is not from our country.  Instead he is from is father's native country of Kenya, would be somewhat conceivable since he has lived in many different countries abroad. However he has proven many a time his birth certificate, but yet there are some that still doubt if he is a real American. Another issue is that Obama is called a Muslim, because of his past. While this shouldn't be an issue many Americans still believe that to be leader of this nation you must have Christian values.

If there hadn't been so much scrutiny, who knows where we would be today. We could be bringing ourselves out of the recession with our heads held high. We could've had free health care for all, and immigration reform. Instead the Right would rather badger him, and attack his character instead of his policies( ad Hominem:).
